Who I Am and What I Do

Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine/Chinese Herbs
 Marco Leclerc, DAc., LicAc., MAOM
I was introduced into the exciting field of East-Asian and Holistic medicine through my own exploration and self-discovery of personal health and wellness. I originally developed an interest in the healing arts through practicing Reiki and Yoga as well as learning about lifestyle, diet, and herbal therapy. Through these explorations, deeper interest developed in how Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can help the body overcome chronic health problems and bothersome blocks that prevent an individual from achieving a sense of well being in life. I believe that healing can arrive for a patient in many forms; through various avenues and combinations of therapy. My aim is to become aware of each patient’s individual needs, working with the patient to achieve the highest potential for healing.
I am board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and hold an active license in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I received a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) at the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA). During graduate studies, I completed clinical internship as an Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner at New England School of Acupuncture (Newton,MA), Pathways to Wellness (Boston, MA), and Shattuck Hospital (Jamaica Plain, MA). I worked in the NESA herbal dispensary, gaining an in-depth knowledge of Chinese herbs, formula writing, compounding and managing operations in an herbal pharmacy. From 2014-2017, I co-owned, managed, and practiced at Friends and Family Acupuncture, LLC formerly located in Wrentham, MA.
I received intensive training in various styles, approaches, and adjunctive techniques used in the modern practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I have foundational training in Chinese style Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine along with training in auricular and orthopedic style Acupuncture. I received training in oriental bodywork including Tuina (Chinese), and Shiatsu (Japanese). I am Reiki certified.
I graduated from Cumberland High School and completed undergraduate studies at Community College of Rhode Island (A.F.A. Jazz Studies) and Rhode Island College (B.A. Music). I enjoy passing time playing music, drawing, biking, hiking, camping, and exploring the outdoors.
